Minority Faculty and Students
MIRC is a professional association of faculty and students from minority and minority-serving institutions as well as minority faculty and students from major institutions dedicated to increasing the presence of scientists from racial, ethnic, cultural, and economic groups that have been historically underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Domestics and International Institutions
More than 20 domestic and 10 international institutions are represented at MIRC. Among our U.S. partners, MIRC is represented by faculty and students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, and Native American-Serving Institutions (TCUs, NASNTIs, and AANAPISIs). Our international partners including faculty from institutions in Norway, Colombia, Mexico, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and more.
Research interests span disciplines across the natural sciences and the social sciences. From studying extreme microbes and the limits at which life can exist and evolve to studies of river ecosystems and animal pathogens, MIRC strives to support and build the research portfolio of our scientists while providing robust domestic and international research opportunities for MIRC-affiliated students.
